The Red Ring of Death or common known as RROD can occur in all models of the XBOX 360 regardless of the manufacturing date, the engineers at Microsoft designed the XBOX 360 in a way where heat is concentrated to the center of the board although newer versions have improved heat extractions this still proves useless to an intense gamer. Also the XBOX 360 employs lead free solder, this type of solder tends to dry up and crack thus rendering the machine useless and causing a variety of faults.
Common Symptom which may suggest your console is experiencing the RROD - Red Ring of Death
1. Your XBOX 360 Freezes and crashes and a red LED circles appear around the power button.
2. Freeze ups become more frequent and rapid
3. A-lot of white dots and lines appear on your tv screen
4. The Red Ring of Death appears on your console. (if it is displaying 3 red lights , in Q1 , Q2 ,Q3 then you have selected the right repair.)
Causes
* Over heating of the systems CPU and GPU
* The soldering of the system drys and cracks
* Hairline cracks in the CPU and/or the VGU
To exactly determine the fault of the console we need to X-RAY the motherboard to determine the crack or dry solder location , this method of determining the fault is very expensive thus therefore we offer the FULL reflux process were we heat the entire board to a certain degree and carefully smooth-out the solder. On some occasions the CPU and or the VGU overheat and causes the microchip to have a hairline crack , if this crack is in existence then the console is unrepairable.
